- If the reason for your Kindle won’t turn on on is the battery (in case you didn’t consider this), take a sigh of relief. The device will naturally not turn-on unless you recharge it. If the green light is on or the battery icon shows it as being charged, it is unlikely that the battery is the problem for your Kindle locking up.
- Find the Kindle app on your Mac and delete it and the supporting files. Mine was in an 'incompatible software' directory. Easiest way is to use appcleaner or a similar app. Reinstall from the Mac App store. It will be version 1.10.6 (40499) dated 10/17/14. Any version of 1.10.6 prior to 10/17/14 is probably not going to work.

- Go to read.amazon.com to open Kindle Cloud Reader.
You may need to sign in with your Amazon account.
- Your Kindle Library is displayed on the main page. Select a book to start reading.
